As serious as the corona virus situation is in our country and around the world, I think one thing we can all agree on is the need for humour. We need to remember to allow ourselves to laugh and joke and provide room for levity in an otherwise depressing season.
For this Mr. Prime Minister, we thank you, and will allow you kick off a stroll down memory lane as we look at the 5 best autotune remixes that have gone viral.
5. Speaking Moistly
The funniest part to me is that Prime Minister Trudeau caught himself as soon as he said it. The song is simple and catchy, which is what you want in a viral remix. But not only that, it's definitely the distraction we all need right now, and a reminder that all of us are just trying our best. It does make me wonder if someone got fired over that speech (or perhaps the Prime Minister was going off script?). It will be interesting to see if JT responds to the viral video and reaction to his little gaff. I hope they start playing this in the club, whenever they open back up again. Verified banger.
4. Just Do It
I am unabashedly a Shia fan. I have always thought he was a great actor and really is just trying his best to make his way through the world after having a crazy and traumatic childhood. He does do crazy things though, don't get me wrong. This internet speech is one of those head scratchers. But not without some good points, I think. Anyway, this is a great remix of that speech and with some real guitars in the background. A little more unique than some other autotune remixes.
3. Double Rainbow
I was never a huge fan of the original video; it seemed to me that this was just some guy on drugs out enjoying nature. It was funny, but to go as viral as it did, I'll never understand. I happen to like the autotune song though, the piano in the beginning and the classic 90's vibe it gives off coming in with the synth, makes for a pretty fun song. It also has garnered 40 million views which is really impressive.
2. Thundersnow
Guys. I laughed out loud. Not only is the original video hilarious, but the remix amplifies this already exuberant weatherman's exhilaration about the "thundersnow." I know I would watch more news if this guy was on. I'm just stoked that he was stoked. This song is awesome, and Songify This comes in on this list with its second track. They do good stuff.
1. Bed Intruder
This is not only the most well crafted song on the list, but it by far has the most YouTube views. The guy who made this remix actually made money on this, and good for him, it has a great groove. This news story went viral on its own by and large because of the interviewee Antoine Dodson and then this remix took it to a whole other level.
One that just missed the mark due to the lack of autotune in the remix is the Whistle Tip song based off of the viral new clip. Which is a favourite of mine.
There are so many viral remix videos, but it actually wasn't that hard to choose because theres a ton of duds out there. However, I want to know if I missed your favourite. If there's a hilarious remix video out there you love, let me know!
